• Experienced, knowledgeable trainers who are good communicators and provide good examples of the sport.
• Your instructor should be able to tell you what you are doing wrong and show you, by example, what you need to do to perfect the picture you want to show the judge.
• Your instructor needs to encourage you and your dog.
• Your instructor needs to explain proper equipment and how to correctly hold your leash.
• Your instructor needs to teach you how to communicate with your hands and “Dance” with your dog when you are moving.
• Instructors need to explain ring patterns and why you do them--‘down and back’ to show rear and front movement and ‘around’ to show side gait.
• Your instructor needs to teach students to be aware of where the judge is and what the judge is looking for at that moment. Always be ready to present the pretty picture of what the judge is looking for with your dog.
• Your instructor needs to show how to quickly line up your dog in the class, equally spaced and in a straight line behind the lead dog.
• You should expect equal time for individual movement and for group exercises.

 No. It is a drop-in class. Our schedules are posted and always open for new students.

No, you and your dog(s) can attend as many or as few classes as you feel you need.  At the end of each class verbal updates are appreciated especially during peak season for local shows, when additional classes may be scheduled based on interest and need. 

Yes, depending on the breed you need a show collar, either a choke (metal chain or nylon) or a solid adjustable lead like a Rescoe.  If you use a choke collar you will need a lead that you can easily fold to fit into your hand. click here to see the basic equipement.

Yes.   We ask that you bring no more than two per handler.  You must provide a crate for the dog not being worked or someone to hold it out of the way.

$10.00 per session (sessions are one hour) 

We provide free classes to eligible juniors. It is our ‘giveback’ to the sport of dogs.
